The Rhythm of Rain | Unhurried Journey | Winter Waltz

Moody Monet

Misty muted hues
of bluish-gray
settle into
a dampened
cloudy
sulky-sullen
silvery haze;
afternoon's draped
in a feathery blur,
like images
brushed
on a moody Monet.

Winds wander
aimlessly
wondering, waiting,
sometimes breathless,
anticipating;
soulful, solemn
restless, sighing,
changing directions
lullaby-ing.

Taciturn tears
fall upon
this weary day,
singing
surrender's song
of 'come what may.'

A Desire to Bend

Newly-fashioned
budding blooms,
whose
delicate, dreamy
creamy curves
turn sweetly
into inner curls,
 scenting air
with floral swirls,
bask
in sunshine's
buttery
light of day,
lift their innocent
 faces
as if to say~
'Heaven send
your whirring wisps
of wind;
teach
our willing stems
to softly sway
and gently bend.'

Brittle Foliage

As tired tree limbs
shed shivering leaves
like rusty tears
settling
topsy-turvy
in an unattended heap,
I'm reminded
how once-vibrant feelings
turned fragile,
and our so-called love
with its ragged edges
simply crumbled from neglect.

You mumble
something unintelligible now
but the chill in the words is clear,
and when you walk away,
the sound of brittle foliage
crushing underfoot
is all I hear.

The Rhythm of Rain

Droplets
falling
from the dewy eyes
of Paradise
slimmer-shine
and drizzle-drip,
glimmer-gliding silken-slick
in trickling tracks
drenching
glistening glass,
and in the dance
of delicate dollops
pitter-pattering on the pane,
an enchanting chance
for Divine romance
is revealed
as Heaven's heartbeat
pulsing
in the rain.

Unhurried Journey

I shall journey
unhurried, unworried;
wind my way
o'er oft'-crossed loam.
Surely I am led
by more than memory
to the place I know
as home.

In a different time,
with trust
not yet a friend,
I'd wander out
misguided
by a haunting
hollow sound,
hopeful
that inside the echo
comfort might be found.

Not so, this day
for well I've learned
my pathway's
destination
mirrors the place
where I begin,
when I clasp the hand
of solace
and lay eyes
on the landscape within.

Winter Waltz

In pristine beauty,
winter waltzes
over barren ground,
ever so gently
spreading
the intricate lace
of her softly-gathered
pearl-white gown.

Gracefully
along the land
she floats
in sequined shoes,
quietly delivering
her elegant gift
against sky's backdrop
of deepening hues.

Sweeping swirls
and frozen whirls
accompany her
in silent solstice serenade,
as she performs
her holiday dance
on the earth now covered
in ivory brocade.
