Peter Arceseis on the faculty of NYU and HB Studio where he teaches poetry, theatre, and the classics. His verse play, The Breakfast, opened in New York City at the Douglas Fairbanks Studio Theatre in 1984. Recently, he directed the world premieres of Behind the Eyes and Threesome, a series of one-act plays by William Packard. Arcese's translations of poetry and drama include Aeschylus's Agamemnon into English syllabic verse and selected fragments of Sappho (The New York Quarterly, No. 58). He received NYU's Award for Teaching Excellence and is co-founder with Ray Hammond of Athanata Arts, Ltd., a production and publishing company dedicated to promoting interdisciplinary approaches to the arts.
