Kristin Ann Fahlbusch was born in 1983 and grew up in Bayville, New York. She received a BA in English from The George Washington University in 2005, an MS from Long Island University in 2008 and is currently pursuing an MFA in Poetry at The New School where she is at work on her first collection of poems. Kristin Ann enjoys spontaneous dance parties and tiramisu. She lives in New York City.

Driftwood
Noiselessly,
you float upon the surface
of the water.
You rise and fall,
as each wave lifts your smooth,
light carcass—
carrying you along.
Black water touches black sky
and you are caught in the abyss,
knowing the tide is sure to pull you out a little farther—
before it brings you home. |
