At night, I watch blinds
reflected on the walls, I
imagine other places, am
healed, life will go on, it
seems, other things will
happen, visionary death
will give way to visionary
life (it always looks orange,
like light during snowfall),
so many not here yet hold
the key to all this: I wait.

I stood naked, a
disappeared text,
dissolved in more
text that was done
in French, smudged
lines, heart-shaped
erasures, crossings,
a witch, not such
a bluebird as she
was when I listened
to her in a bar,
stoned in Rockford,
letter stored in
her belly, tugging.
