Holy Grail

From common milk
a womb we shared

flows pain of witness

The veined lifeline that
joined us before birth

pulls us apart

Her crumpled cry
draws blood from

impossible promises

Hands that drew us to her breast
mimic Lady Macbeth

washing out the damned spot

She who held us once
in her moon-smile

now turns her face to the wall
