Weathered Feather | Finery

Weathered Feather
I found
a fragile
weathered feather
resting solo
on the sand;
it's curved
muted plume
lent softness
to the coarse ground
where it nested.
Light wind
stirred then,
rustling, teasing,
but failed
to disturb
the solitary bit of quivering fringe
from its soul purpose
of capturing
my imagination.

Finery
I cherish
the fabric of trust
which fashioned over time
allows us
to slip easily
into sheer vulnerability;
how fine the thread
and strong the weave
of hearts revealing feelings
in every shade and texture,
so bared souls
may come away
adorned in riches,
garbed in regalia.
